The Great Get Together was a public event organised by Age UK, at Greenford Community Centre on 15 June 2017.
The aim of the day was to get together with older people, neighbours, the local community and Ealing residents. They wanted to encourage people to talk to their neighbours and look out for them, so very much trying to raise awareness about loneliness and isolation among older people.
The event was really well attended. Various community and other organisations attended the event, including local high school, Ealing Healthwatch, Greenford Canine Association, Mediation service, Southall Community Alliance and other organisations. We had an information stall on the day. We asked the public to complete Choosing Wisely questionnaire and tell us what they think about our proposals.
